Managing Water
Aside from physical structures, one of our most precious assets is water and our 91 reservoirs alone hold the equivalent of 25,000 Olympic sized swimming pools, and the whole system the equivalent of two billion bathtubs.
We have a water management team who specialise in ensuring there is enough water in the system and that it is of the right quality. The future effects of climate change, tougher environmental legislation and greater boat numbers will put additional pressure on these water supplies. Despite these challenges, our improvements in monitoring and control and the way we manage our resources has resulted in fewer cruising restrictions and a more reliable supply of water to our customers.
